Blade & Sorcery: Man-slaughtering has never been so much fun (in VR)
First, this game should come with a hazard warning. I've already broken a controller thanks mateĀ and had myself nearly smashed into my kitchen wall playing this. It's that immersive and adrenaline pumping. I've actually decided not to play this game until I can expand my play area because otherwise there won't be anything unbroken in my room before long.
Second, be prepared to face the hidden devil in you, because this game will bring out the worst of you. I don't care if you are a little white bunny or a fluffy little kitten, this game will turn you into a blood-thirst mindless man-slaughtering monster. That feeling of grabbing someone's head and stabbing his chest with a dagger in your hand or cutting someone's leg right off with one single sword slash is ... disturbingly satisfying. When you are in that setting, you just couldn't help but enjoy killing people and hearing the sound of your sword piercing their body and the blood bursting out. There's something about it. Maybe it activates the reptilian part of your brain or something.
The game is pretty bare-bones at the moment (even after a year and a half in EA), with 4 'sandbox' maps where you can fight waves after waves of AI enemies using different weapons (and one spell). That's it. Zero story, quest, progression. Nothing. So, don't expect anything beyond a basic VR gladiator simulation for now.
For future development, I would suggest adding sex, drugs, alcohol and gambling into this game, and making it the best all-round debauchery simulator with a bit of RPG elements and a light storyline. Just imagine that: You are a gladiator in Rome or a medieval mercenary, having just slain your enemies in an epic battle with their blood fresh on your hands, and then get drunk at the local tavern and have a blast with a wench of your choosing. Oh yeah, give me some of that.
Still a fun game in its current shape though. I doubt you would get very many hours from it, but it's worth the price just for the VR combat experience.
